As you age and if you consume teeth staining beverages, then chances are that it has yellowed over time. Many of our patients have expressed they want their teeth whitened after a general check up and get several enquiries a day from patients. These staining could be caused by:

•   The natural aging process
•   Regularly Smoking or vaping
•   Drinking tea or coffee
•   Drinking wine or other alcoholic beverages such as beer
•   Accumulation of plaque and tartar deposits

Teeth Whitening Treatments at Diestel & Partners

We offer two solutions to whiten your teeth at Diestel & Partners. These are the home whitening kits and the in-clinic professional treatment. For the professional session, we use laser treatment and a higher gel concentration than the at-home-kits to combat teeth staining.

In-Clinic Treatment

Our 2 Step Whitening Process for New Patients

First of all, we highly recommend that you get your teeth cleaned first, especially if you haven't done so in the last 3-6 months.

Secondly, we begin the whitening procedure. Thi can be done in a single, 2-hour appointment with any of our dentists.  Our solution will use a whitening gel with a stronger peroxide concentration of 25% and a blue light emitting laser that stimulates the whitening process.

This is generally suitable for most people, however do keep in mind that there are exceptions. People that have crowns, veneers or composite fillings done will need to replace them after getting their whitening done as these materials do not whiten in the bleaching process.

At-Home Whitening Kit

If you would like to attempt to whiten your teeth by yourself, then you are welcome to purchase DIY over the counter whitening kits from us.

Some patients will choose this method for convenience and cost. Our at home whitening kits include a lower peroxide concentration of 16% or 22% and custom trays.

The procedure will still require one visit for the dentist to take an impression of their teeth for the custom trays. We will also recommend teeth cleaning should you need one before you whiten your teeth.
